1932 Chrysler CH Imperial Convertible Sedan
Franklin Farnsworth Car
PART 1. This is the most interesting Old car story I know. When I got this car it had absolutely no upholstery in it whatsoever. But one thing Franklin did have were the original factory photos of the car when it was new. This is how I could authentically reproduce the originality of the top and interior. Back in the 1950's Franklin came across this car in a field behind some building in Wyoming. He bought it for a few hundred dollars and began what he told me was a 40 year + restoration. Upholstery is usually the last thing to get done. He brought the car to me in Denver Colorado in 1996 for the top and upholstery. My favorite part of the story used to be, how while in his 80's after a 40 year restoration, he was able to drive away in the car a few weeks later for the first time ever back to Cheyenne Wyoming.
PART 2. In 2014 I saw this car driving down the road in Aurora Colorado and chased it down. First thing I had to ask was, "Was this Franklin Farnsworth's car?" The gentleman told me that it was Californian David Farnsworth's old car. His story was he bought it at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale Arizona and brought it home to Denver. Wow! my head was spinning!
Apparently, According to Barrett-Jackson, This wonderful Automobile has won several awards including an AACA National First place!
Thanks Franklin, Richard
